Compare capacity and dimensions
Give the skip its own space without taking over the way to neighbouring homes.
For a Denny terrace, a small space outside can make the skip position the first thing to sort out. Where the front garden is short or there is no driveway, explain the position before booking. The skip needs a permitted place to stand, and you need a clear way between the door and the load.
Say whether the proposed space belongs to the house or forms part of the road.
A convenient loading position must not block another entrance or shared route.
Council permission must be granted before delivery, rather than arranged after it arrives.

Work out the bulky items before filling the skip with smaller bags.
If the job covers a bedroom, hall and spare room, list the largest pieces together. Doors, old units and long timber can take up most of the space. Separate restricted items at the start, then load steadily without leaving a trail of rubbish through the house.
Give rough dimensions for dismantled furniture and long materials.
Do one manageable stage at a time instead of blocking the hall with everything at once.
Call when the skip is ready and keep access open until it is collected.
Practical details for the job you are planning.
The skip needs an agreed suitable position. If private ground is not available, a road position may be possible only after Falkirk Council permission and local restrictions are checked.
Keep mattresses out of a general skip. Describe them when arranging the clear-out so an appropriate separate disposal route can be discussed.
Stop at the rim and call. Discuss another skip or an exchange rather than adding boards or leaving objects projecting above the sides.
Describe the front garden or road space and the largest items from every room you plan to clear.
Delivery availability, the hire period and collection are confirmed before you book.
